The Aldermoons

The Aldermoons is a six-book epic fantasy series about choice and fate, friendship and loyalty, and above all, love and family.

Raised in the quiet human town of Butterpond, the twins have always known little of the world beyond their home. Adric dreams of becoming a hero like those in the stories he reads, while Irabel would rather live a peaceful life close to home. Their dreams are quickly forgotten when they become the first humans ever Chosen, causing nearly everyone in Trecara to question their god, Aias.

Surrounded by elves, dwarves and orcs, the twins learn to wield the mysterious Fortes granted by Aias while uncovering secrets buried beneath centuries of peace. As they investigate the strange events surrounding them, they begin questioning the history they were taught, the motives of those around them, and eventually Aias herself.

With an ancient enemy gathering power and the fragile peace of Trecara beginning to fracture, Adric, Irabel and their friends must discover why Aias has selected them before the world they know is changed forever.

About Darcy

Darcy Garrett is a fantasy writer from Brisbane, Australia, and the author of The Aldermoons, a six-book epic fantasy series.

He has spent the last six years turning a simple idea into a story. What started as something he had to put into words has grown into a six-book series, filled with the things he loves most about fantasy: memorable characters, complicated plots, unexpected twists and plenty of humour.

Darcy's path through fantasy started with R.L. Stine before moving through R.A. Salvatore, J.R.R. Tolkien, George R.R. Martin and J.K. Rowling. Apparently, authors with initials have always had an advantage.

He works in data, which may explain why he plans his writing in an unusually meticulous way. He uses Excel to map out everything in The Aldermoons including the twists, character arcs, population statistics and even individual words.

When he's not writing, Darcy can usually be found at the gym, solving puzzles or playing board games.

The Aldermoons is his first project, with The Academy, Book One, available to read on Royal Road and Ream.
